Healing Hands From Japan

The art and practice of reiki (pronounced ra-kee) comes from the Japanese words, rei roughly translates to “spiritual”; ki is commonly translated as “vital energy.”

The reiki practice at the Union Hotel will be overseen by Mona, where she received her training in the original Usui teachings to become a Reiki Master and Teacher in 2019.

This process is conducted in a quiet, private space so healers and their patients can concentrate or sleep  – and enjoy the full benefits of this ancient practice.

Reiki was founded by Dr. Mikao Usui, who studied at a Buddhist monastery and taught martial arts, swordsmanship and the Japanese form of Chi Kung, a form of movement, breathing, and meditation.

Reiki’s popularity has been increasing over the years, and has shown to help people’s mood and emotional well being to improve and stress to diminish. Other effects include better sleep and improved insomnia symptoms.

Practitioners will use their hands to guide energy through the body, and help the recipient’s body take advantage of its self healing abilities. Think of a certified reiki master as a channel for energy, instead of a source.

It’s in use at hospitals, medical centers, hospices and private practice physicians who have found that it can help their patients attain more positive and relaxed mindsets. What was once an ancient technique continues to gain acceptance around the world.

The International Association of Reiki Professionals has been in operation for 25 years, and helped thousands of people become familiar with the many benefits of this healing form.

It’s also aided people who are about to undergo surgery, lower blood pressure and reduce anxiety and pain. Cancer patients have also found solace in this practice because it helps reduce anxiety while improving their pain management.

Find peace, find energy, find yourself with the reiki services at the Union Hotel.
